Beneath disguise, truth lies.

You cannot escape yourself.

Each step you take
upon the earth
imprints your soul.

Walk carefully,
for others may try to follow.

Do not wallow in the mudflats
of fear and hatred
but instead, be one
who attempts to cleanse
hearts and minds
with showers of love.

Step carefully...for it is a truth,
you can never retrace those steps.

Each step you take
upon the earth
imprints your soul
upon the face
of humanity.

Yo Midnitesun,

You have that right Hon, and we all is what we is, for better or for worse.

a wise and fine 'write!'

I am EXTREMELY fond of:

"Each step you take
upon the earth
imprints your soul.

Walk carefully,
for others may try to follow..."

VERY serious, sustained applause for this 'penning!'

That first line kicks butt. I love the ambiguity of the opening, and how the poem reveals intent.

Y'rock! Blessed be, ms. lovely!

Good advice in fine poetry -- this line jumped off the page:

"Each step you take
upon the earth
imprints your soul"

Wow. I loved it Midnightsun. I especially adored the last stanza. This poem is definitely going in my library.

Kacy, this uplifting poem, besides being full of wise advice, (unintentionally I know) is a tribute to you - for you are a worthy person to try to follow.

"beneath disguise lies truth." How true this is and how wise your words are.

Sometimes those mud flats just suck you in and don't let you escape.  Good writing, Midnitesun.  You are shining high in the northern sky.
