A NANO-FLUTTER’S GRACE
31 October 2006

Tonight, now,
in joyous rebellion,
I will shake my hair loose
and pluck
a lightning flash
to wrap my spirit
in the pulse of
thunder-drums
and poetry colours
and slow-soaked peace,
and I will twirl them
around my fingers
and my shoulders
like an untamed, rainbow scarf
and I will dance them
barefoot on cool, wet grass
. . . till the white thunder dies
. . . and the clock ticks again
. . . and the work shouts
my name.

Awesome imagery, Owl! Somehow I see fireflies whirling in the night, reading your poem. Lovely!

This has a wonderful sense of freedom and abandon about it Diana.

Thanks, Ida.  Sometimes I feel the need to break free.  Other times I feel that I am already free.

Hello Owl, I enjoyed very much the pulse of your poem and its expression of intense freedom, you shared perfectly your joie de vivre...

Oh MY!

Yanno? You'd fit right in with my bunch of witches! This pretty much sums up what we're all about anyhow--joyous celebration of the "now", both within us--and outside of us, in a glorious moment of giddy unity.

*shaking my head*

I just knew it!

I read this aloud, it was so cleansing!
Made me want to shed my skin and run through the backyard.

Thank you for such a refreshing write.

Thanks, yann.  Sometimes the joie de vivre is there, and sometimes I have to plant it, nurture it and make sure it grows.

Glad you liked my untamed, rainbow scarf, Kacy.  Thanks for highlighting it.

"Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble" - how am I doing, Karen?  I have always wanted to be called a female dog - (had to remove a word because I got an Inappropriate Content Detected message) so that I can say, "what breed?", but nobody does.  I suppose being called a witch is pretty close!  I have often referred to my broom, so perhaps I am a more successful witch than I thought!  Giggles.

Thanks, Heather.  I have always felt that it is of primary importance - except perhaps for some very modern format poems - that one reads poetry aloud.  I am glad it sounded good and felt refreshing and cleansing.
