Raining Day

Sitting besides the window pane,
Gazing at the dark blue sky,
The chill breeze passed me by,
Touching my vein.

I could feel the cool air,
Blown over my hands bare,
I could sense it’s about to rain,
Sitting besides the window pain.

Heard a roar from the sky,
It was lightening and thundering, I wondered why?
The bag of cloud was cut open wide,
And water was rushing out like a tide.

Kids running up and down the streets,
Water overflowing up to their feet,
Men coming home with sweets,
Ladies preparing spicy treats.

How wonderful is the rain,
Washing away all my pain,
How wonderful is the rain,
Which I saw, sitting besides the window pane.

Thank you for sharing your window pane.  I loved the visuals that you painted for us.  Some of us are working in the poetry workshop - it might be a place you want to check out as you just have started to write poems.

It's nice to read your poems on the boards and welcome to PiP.

Thank you Romantic Heart and Alison, for your comments, surely I will try to participate in the workshop as and when I get time. This is my first attempt at poetry. Nice to hear you enjoyed it.

I love also your first attempt, dear Prasad. I enjoyed your ponderings and your conclusions about the rain. I love rain too. You succeeded in creating a peaceful, serene atmosphere, that is what I perceived.

Beautiful.

Love,
Margherita

I love this one especially...............Kids running up and down the streets,
Water overflowing up to their feet,
Men coming home with sweets,
Ladies preparing spicy treats.

It conjurs up a lovely picture of your home land
