Forever In Your Heart

Park Bench

Here it is, close to our time,
when we would meet,
you awake, me asleep,

Now I just come,
alone, sitting, waiting,
on the park bench of poetry,

Paperless words float by,
not one sticks,
your heavy words are missed,

Winds whisper all around,
my heart beats without a sound,
softly, quietly, I listen,

for the pitter, patter,
of your heartsteps,
across this blue sidewalk.

pigeons walk by in huddles,
reminding me more of you,
we both eat crumbs,

Two people on opposites ends,
sitting in different parks,
with a trail of tears.

This is where fate arrived,
this magic sidewalk,
where it all began,

Sometimes I see you pass by,
leaving dusty footprints,
your ghost reappears.

You steal my thoughts often,
making me feel guilty for time,
that I spend on you,

I sit here under blue skies,
rainy skies, snowy skies,
I will come here days after.

Lovers pass by, with duets,
I envy their happiness,
happiness I once held,

People stop and ask,
why am I dead,
I have no reply,

They see the sun,
I don't,
they dance in the rain,
I drown in tears,

I have become a shadow,
faintly fading,
only seen through your eyes,

now I am not seen at all,
I will die here on this sidewalk,
my words remembered, echoing,

One day you will walk by,
the place I sit,
never to see me again,

only my words,
blowing across,
this blue sidewalk.

You know you're in love, when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dream~Dr.Seuss

I hope time will heal your broken heart, you seem to have so much to give as is shown by your lovely words.
