Katherine Hepburn

late at night,
I like to get cozy,
with my comfy blanket,

Laying upon my couch,
chips and pop, snacks,
relaxing, retreat.

Once I am reclined,
I begin looking for,
my favorite channel,

Old black and white movies,
some full of color,
but all are classics.

I see the women,
so classy, dressed,
with respect and charm,

tcm

Men with morals,
no nude scenes,
didn't need them,

No curse words,
words of witty charm,
flirtations,

Oh, the music,
I could dance,
romantic glances.

Some are funny,
some sad, happy,
great stories,

The narrator appears,
right before each one,
telling why it was picked.

If only I could press,
the button and escape,
into time with them.

Glad to see someone who is like minded!

This is so true! Lovely poem, really takes me there

If you don't mind subtitles, give a few Bollywood movies a try. Most of them are pure family fare with beautiful colors, music and dance. Lots of drama and always a happy ending.

You sound like me, RA. I love the old movies for the same reasons. My favorite is the 1939 version of Wuthering Heights. I can't count how many times I've watched it and cried every time.

I feel the same way...I go to sleep every evening with TCM on. Nice write.
