WET FINGER IN THE WIND
30 August 2006

He splashed his spleen in my face
when I was handing him
a courtesy.
Her superior Judas bones, pencil-sharpened,
and gluttonous,
ice-picked four corners of my back
in managerial support,
in spite of her having to face
the board next Thursday
for the same greed
towards her best, but equally disloyal, friend
of thirty years or more.
She ignored
his spleen and his inane, mocking cackle
dripping down my face.

Thank you, Margherita.  "He" was a colleague at the time and "she" was the boss.

Wow!  The entire poem is amazing, but the first lines grabbed me and would not let me go.

Thanks, Alison.  I think injustice is one of the hardest pills to swallow.

Whoa, there girl! Your words certainly packed a powerful bunch! I could feel them in my solar plexus and I was not even there to witness or experience such malfeasance in the workplace!

Great, impassioned write! Who knew you had it in you, m'dear l'il SA friend! lol

Now breath nice and slow ~ and have a wonderful day!

With love,
Linda

Giggles, Linda!  It is an old poem and I no longer work there - not because of that.  Just needed to get it off my chest at the time.  Big smiles.

Wow, Diana! Anyone who has had to navigate the workplace would like to have written this one at one time or another. Bravo!
