Why is it that each time
The sun comes up
I know a little less

You, like the sun
So far away and untouchable
But yet
You make me warm
And even hot

Sometimes!

So I keep my distance
So I won’t get burned
And I don’t look too long
So I won’t go blind
But still,
To me alive
You find

Just because I can’t see you
It doesn’t mean you’re not there
Yesterday you’re spirit tripped
Over the horizon
Three hours since

And yet

As I waited in the darkness of caves
You’re light
Reflecting off the moon
Still, it touches me
Where I cannot hide
So I turn away
But still
I feel your warmth
From afar
As it blisters
My past
From the shadow
It casts
Onto the dreams
That I hold
From that other side

Don’t worry about my words
They’re just the blood of my thoughts
That drip from the broken songs of my soul
And onto your lips
Every time I look into your eyes
And see the color of stolen wind
And ripped blue jeans
Laying on the bed

Last night I dreamt that
I had to let go
And our world tipped over

And all the rivers were waterfalls
As we swung from bent trees
Before we fell into space
And back onto the mare of night

Riding over the star moats of beginning
And back down
Into the castle of dawn

You told me to walk on water
So I did
Over a frozen pond
Risking the frigid
Depths of time

So let me loan you my breeze
Of empty sails
As I breathe it into your lungs
As your giver of life

If even for just a moment

These clouds are filled
With vanished shipwrecks
And the cries of
Extinct animals
And the truthful lies
Of pondering

And still
These words
Fall
Like forgotten poems
Into ravines of
Broken mirrors

Take one more look into my eyes
And tell me what you see
is it the place I want to take you

Where dusk is the shade of old liquor
And the morning dew smells of
The wet chrism of ‘morrow’s musk

It’s the place where lost goes
To be found
At the crossroads of fate
And forever
And where hidden thoughts
Can hide

Never again

It’s a point somewhere between
The gray of passion
and denial

And it’s always been there
Trapped inside the beauty of,

Your smile

I tried to steal a handful
Of ocean beach today
For you
But it dried it up
And it was taken away

Tonight, as your light once again
Smiles off the moon
Like rusty chains
Amidst the black eye of nightfall
and the howl of lost battles

Come with me to the world of,
Ourselves

Live with me
Within

Our eyes

Run with me,
To the world

of

MeandYou

As I have nothing
Left to give you

But I,

And the sand
beneath my nails

Freedom of expression is our, write.

This poem is so very rich with beauty and unique and extremely effective images.  Just so heart-rending.  As I think I said - or words to this effect - in a response to another of your poems, that she wouldn't and couldn't resist you if you were only to let her read what you have written.

Why thank you so much Owl, that is a very sweet thing to say.

I'd have to say though, that my poetry, like this one, is written about, that imagninary person, that many of us seek for, in our heart of hearts.

Thanks Again.

Such poignantly beautiful lines, dear Richy!

You are not just a waterfall, you are THE waterfall of emotions.

Love and joy.

Linda Lou ~ Okay my dear Linda Louise, I’ve got myself so broke I couldn’t get lost if it cost a quarter to go around the world, so what do you say? Lol  In a parallel universe in some other dimension you and I do read each other, all day, and, all night, I’m certain of it. Much love to you.

Alison ~ Wow, I think that’s the first thing I ever did, that was worth saving? You are too sweet!

Kathleen (Kacy) ~ At night, closing our eyes is like pulling down the movie screen isn’t it? What a nice thought that is.

Margherita ~ You know, people usually tell me to float over a waterfall! You are always so sweet to me my dear friend

Thank You Everyone!

Dear Richy, An extremely emotive and touching write.  You have found the one you seek even though you think you can't see her.  You write of and to her as if she is real so I've no doubt that she is.  Keep the feel of her within so you can share your amazing poetry with us!

Richy, I am very glad that this and other poems are of missing an imaginary woman as that is less painful than if she were real.  That is debatable, I know, but that is what my (debatable) view is.

May you find her one day.  Whilst I can imagine that you have several dozen women beating down your door at any given time, that doesn't help if none of them are the right one.  When you do find her, you will have no trouble keeping her - just ply her with your beautiful poetry!

Richy my friend, this was one out of the box, I enjoyed the journey from the first word to the last, you have such a talent to share Rich and I am so glad you shared it with me today. Take care my friend and be well, let that imagination keep your ink flowing.

Sincerely
