Sally and Felix
knew it would happen
sooner or later.

The neighborhood
would claim
their Angelo
as its own.

The phone call came
Thursday night,
after eleven.

Angelo was calling
from the police station.

He needed Sally and Felix
to come down
and get him out of jail.

Sally and Felix went down
to pick their child up.

Angelo had been caught
soliciting himself
down on the avenue.

They went down
and claimed Angelo.

They took Angelo home.

There was nothing
they could say to Angelo.

They were first picked up
by the police
when they were fourteen
too.

They gave Angelo
the silent treatment
for two weeks.

They kept Angelo in the house
for those two silent weeks.

The silent treatment
nearly drove Angelo nuts.

Angelo was never arrested
again.

Bobby

I'm finding Angelo's story as compelling as Felix's was...

Tremendous statement, dear Bobby!

I am glad to hear that two weeks of silent treatment brought the expected results!

Love,

Thanks dear Margherita,

Yes, the silent treatment can work wonders.  I know it worked with me when I was a kid.

I never did that to my own kids, as I figured it was too cruel.  It’s much kinder to just smack them around a little.

Thanks James,

Yes, it is good it was his last visit there.  Bad things can happen to people in jail.  I'll have to write a poem about that.
