I Hope That She Remembers Me...

I hope that she occasionally remembers me
back from those far-flung and distant days.
I hope she doesn't just see me as a growing phase
going out for spagetti bolognaise,
two ships passing through a drunken haze,
in an everlasting teenage craze.

I hope that she remembers me still
Like I remember her
I always will

I suppose I was a bit of a Rhett Butler
to her Scarlett O'Hara
because sometimes I'd make her cry
and ruin her mascara.

I hope she keeps me under lock and key
in her special heart-shaped memory file
I hope I'm not bottom of the pile
I know that I could still make her smile
if I could just pick up the telephone and dial.

I hope that she still remembers me
like I remember her
it's only fair
because she'll always have a special part of my heart
dedicated to her
because she was there
right at the start
back when it all began
when I turned into a kind of man.

Nice writing, I really enjoyed.

If you parted on good terms, then I'm sure she still holds a bit of you in her heart, I know I do for my first boyfriend.

Interesting poem Simon, When we love a person very much we remember of she the entire life...she is always the best love until we meet another person who is also the best, and so on...The goal is never close the door of your heart....
