have you noticed winter golds?
fingerprints of left over nightfall?
hear a birdsong
"cradle the child"
a lifetime of joy, fears and shadows
one night dreams become
mysteries crashing thru tomorrows
fair wells and journeys home
I cling to purple mist & unto
the entrance of hours
waiting
waiting
waiting
sky flashes with some voice
that scratches & aches
yet does not regret
I was born by you
sacred & profane
channeling you here
from the fragrance of
apples, of secrets
which life only knows
do you still discern
how to draw rhymes of colors?
breaths of springtime songs?
your room is bright with
sun whispers
believe….
Believe….
your sea a fragile beauty
of living things that tell
footsteps in the night
recognize familiar voice
but for your words of silence
I smell that monster judge
souls torn unintended
but still…
still
horizon dreams
flickering silver, golden hues
looking after you
with your very own
Claire de lune
live through experience
is all one can do
oh,
if I were a Sculptor
but then again NO!

There's always room for a Bernie Taupin lyric.

actually, when my son was little, I'd hold him and sing "Your Song" to him...this poem is his....

thanks so much for stopping by to read and reply
and yes, Taupin was one of the greats...wasn't he

Lee, What a splendid journey!  So many memorable lines, and this one I really enjoyed:

"one night dreams become
mysteries crashing thru tomorrows"

~ Lee J, you know I know whereof you speak ~ and I am a little bit choked up right now...

Yo LeeJ,

This is fairly good.  For me, it doesn't hang together as well as some of your other poems.  It's great see you here again.  I've missed your work.

Bobby

LeeJ!  How good to read you again!  I sometimes get a bit lost on my journey through your words but this piece is understood.  Yes, we all must live through ecperiences but I know it's not always easy.

Hope you are settled now.  I will be in about two weeks time and then no more moving.  Yeah, right!  These days I seem to do what I say I'm not going to do but I hope it's just a seasonal thing.

Hugs

Back again just to tell you that I've lost your e-mail address - my computer crashed.  My e-mail through pip is current if you'd like to re-send yours.

To read Lee, is like eating really rich fruit cake where no expense has been spared - fruit cake that is eyes-closingly moist with lots of cherries and nuts and the maximum mix of fruit alolng with cheese and wine - sounds a strange mix I know, but try it - I was taught that by a friend a long time ago - and oh boy! does each element enhance the others! - and eating/reading it oh, so slowly, savouring every nuance of flavour, lost to the world around.  What a pleasure to read you again!  Thank you.

I meant to add that, contrary to Robert, I feel that this is one of your very best, and that is saying a HELLUVA LOT!

Before I read your reply, I knew this was for your son.  Every word, the rapture and pride of a mother's love.
Thanks for sharing your memories and truths with us!
