Sally and Felix some times
have to ask themselves,
“Why do some people dislike us?”

They can’t quite figure it out,
but they know for sure,
some people do hate them.

It’s a complete mystery to them.

They search their minds,
trying to find some instance
where they have hurt someone.

They can’t come-up with
any such occurrence.

Perhaps it’s because
they hold a mirror up
to society’s face.

What’s reflected there
isn’t always very pretty.

Bobby

Whether willful or otherwise, it's hard imagining not to have hurt anyone. But that aside, the ancient writing says---"For you have hated me without a cause . . ." People can hate because of being ignorant and small minded, or because they feel hurt and want revenge, and there are many other reasons. But Sally and Felix can hold their heads high even in the presence of being looked upon by others with contempt. As you have said, the mirror reflects truth, and it isn't always pretty!

Enjoyed,

Art

Yes, that mirror will do it every time, Bobby.

The mirror is a frighting frame for reality we would much rather hide. Felix and Sally can't help they're living the flip side of the American Dream.

Thanks dear Ida,

Yes, mirrors have this habit of telling the truth.

As much as we might try to please others, we will never succeed in being loved by all ... there are so many psychological processes that bring along hatred, to begin with envy ... but yes you are right also with those mirrors.

Usually we dislike in others the innermost aspects of our own personality which we maybe unconsciously possess, but recognize in others.

"The final analysis" comes to mind ...

Thanks dear Margherita,

You are right.  Thanks so much for the Mother Teresa link.  It’s great.  Sally and Felix say hello, and thanks for the kind words.

Love Bobby
