Shadows dart around the room
Looking for something to cling to.
Restless as always.
Colorless and lonely.
Caught behind a veil of time,
seaching through the night
for the way out of,
or the way into,
the eternal dream.

Dear Ida, I love the imagery and the meaning you convey in this short but very intense poem.

It has a melancholic touch, but we perceive the shadows only when there is light too ... so may the dream be full of light.

Love and hugs.

Yo Ida,

This short poem is very well done.  It has great simplicity, which is very important in poetry.

Thank you all for reading and commenting.

Linda, I have a friend who is very pragmatic and down to earth and also rather religious in a fundamental kind of way. We have been friends for many years and remain that way by avoiding certain subjects.
I know she thinks I am a bit of a "whack job" because her mind simply does not go where mine does. She doesn't call it intriguing either. HaHa.

This is one of those...'wish I had thought of...' pieces...

very much enjoyed the way you play with shadows, my friend.
