With total abandon

*

When your eyes lock with mine
my freedom blends with yours,
our thoughts cast somersaults
and there is laughter for a while,
until the ear drumming subsides.

Our breath creates a new sound
that has not been given a name yet,
but we keep the magical note going
and balance on its wide extension
intrepid like skilled rope dancers.

When our arms hold the world
and we see through and beyond
the defiant walls of inbuilt caution
you move the first dancing step
and I follow you with total abandon.

We leave footprints in sky meadows
upon the shorelines of universe
and within each other’s heart space.
We expand as far as the echoes of love
cast randomly into the ether of forever.

When your eyes lock with mine
my freedom blends with yours, yes.
We surrender to the gravitational pull,
like the tides of our eternal soul
we rise and fall with total abandon.

Absolutely loved the opening two lines - of course the rest of it was pretty awesome too, my friend...but the first two lines just jumped off the page for me.

Really enjoy reading you...

My favorite stanza;

We expand as far as the echoes of love

I am captivated by your glorious dance of verse.  These lines:
"
When your eyes lock with mine
my freedom blends with yours,
our thoughts cast somersaults
and there is laughter for a while,
until the ear drumming subsides.

Our breath creates a new sound
that has not been given a name yet,
but we keep the magical note going
and balance on its wide extension
intrepid like skilled rope dancers."
your similies? of circus acts where enchanting as the rest of the write.
Well, well done
sharyn
