On His Returning From War

The winter winds blow soft tonight
Each memory is held in tow
Her auburn hair catches the light
Reflected on the pallid snow
Desperately he pulls her tight
Years disappear beneath love’s glow

I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S

Dear Hoot_owl_rn,

This is nice, with good end rhymes.

A Harlequin moment, to be sure!

Beautifully penned, Ruth! ~ and I love your new photo! You look so pretty and it is as tho' you're smiling at me! I like that! ~ and I will smile back at you whenever I come in for a visit!

Loving hug,
Linda
