Pitch Black Sea

It attaches itself like a cancer
snaps my bones like twigs
and I fall
Dying, my life leaking
on the ground

I scream, struggle
the rest of the population lies dormant
We’re all living corpses floating on a pitch black sea

But I lie awake

I will persevere
Break myself free
You will blindfold me no longer
I,like a child
running through vacant hills
hands outstretched
joy overflowing
will be free

but lying on this Black Sea, Humanity Chants
"Were all black when the lights are turned off"
What happens when I turn the lights on?

The ending of your piece took a positive turn.
Thanks for sharing.

~ Hmmm, perhaps we all turn white?!? lol ~ Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

May the sun 'Light'en your dark thoughts.
