Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2008-05-13 09:24 PM

The air is freezing my bones here
and they say that I should be warm.
Smugly, they say
"Afterall, look at where you are from."

Yeah, I am from there and know what?
It is not as cold as here.

So, I am freezing my bones here
    wishing I was home
where I am warmer than I am here.

Because even if it is cold there
I am warmer than I am here
and it's home.

Dear Alison,

Yes, this is whining.  Enjoy your travels.  Always remember, "Home is where the hat is."

When I was engineering, I used to make it around the world, every continent, at least ones a year.  I miss those days, and those wonderful people of the world.

I would rather be home too, Alison and I would be whining.

Thank you both.

D, I should be out of here before it warms - and I am going to see flowers.  Lots and lots of flowers.  And the water.  Lots and lots of water.

Bobby,

Yep, whining I was.  I am actually freezing, but I'll go back up to my big bed and pull all the blankets I can find on top of it and read my book.  That should make me feel better.   And yes to the people too ..

Thanks
A

Alison - Home to me has always been warmer than anywhere else I've been with the exception of one place only.  Home seemed very cold after that.

But enjoy your travelling days because you're making memories and that's always a worthwhile thing to do.

Warm hug

Alison, I feel like wrapping you up in a cozy comforter and serving you a cup of hot chocolate by the toasty fireplace.

Love and an extra warm hug,

Dear Alison, reading your sweet whining was like opening a series of sluices that made me experience my own different Heimweh feelings. Home is where love resides no doubt, for me.

But traveling brings such an expansion of our horizons that we can only approve of it and enjoy it.

love,
Margherita

This made me think.

It's warm today. I'm from Ohio, so warm is around 70. And yet, I feel the need to wear a hooded sweatshirt to school and shiver in the breeze.

I'm moving to Texas. So we'll see how the weather is there. My family keeps telling me I'll melt and miss the snow... but I think there's something in being comfortable where you are. Or where you go. It's not just about the weather. It's about how you feel in your skin where you are...
