Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2008-05-12 07:05 AM

wander through my window
see the moon with my eyes
misted by clouds
half-hidden

half-hidden
like me sometimes
when I do my quiet thing
loving the solitude alone time

still peering out with one eye
smiling at all I see below
my ivory tower, I paint
in primary colors
bold and bright
then fade inside

like the moon this morning
slipping behind the hill
making room for dawn
and the sun in its loud
yellow dress, always reaching
for attention

we give up center stage
lost in quiet observations
me and the moon
slipping off in quiet
together

And your moon keeps sneaking smiles at me again (I just love that upside down crescent)

You're developing an intimate way that's lovely to read, Alison.

Much enjoyed.

I loved the entire write but that last stanza wrapped it's arms around me and said welcome home!

"the sun in it's loud yellow dress,
always reaching for attention" (like Leos)
what a great line! Wish I had thought of that.

Dear Alison, I had read this quickly yesterday, but had no time to reply. Now in reading it again I find that this is my absolute favorite of yours.

Simply exquisite, initimately soul expanding ...

A keeper.

Love and hugs.

You skillfully establish an affinity with between yourself and the moon, but there is one key difference. When you can write words like these, your glow is not a reflection.

The metaphor of the sun in its morning dress is simply delicious! I can get inside this poem and abide the images and the emotions expressed. Superb craftsmanship topped off with a huge dash of fine artistry!

Alison ,this is a most beautiful piece....it captivated me .....

"we give up center stage
lost in quiet observations
me and the moon
slipping off in quiet
together"

maybe so ...but when you speak the whole world is moved ...think  about the tides....without the moon ...the earth wouldn´t function

As the moon is shy as us,one thing we should remember is maybe the sun has the light of seeking his attention, but the moon has her beauty and soft light touch which guides us trough our darkest times.love your words, had me close my eyes to see :-)
