A single teardrop wins the battle
not to be contained
Only to evaporate
and fall again as rain

The dust that's blowing in the wind
once walked among the trees
The secrets that were never shared
now whisper in the breeze

How many lonely dreams
lay in the soil that we sow
How many broken hearts
are in the roses that we grow

How many waves have washed away
the footprints we have tread
How many bones must crumble
just to make our daily bread

The air that we are breathing
has brought life to those before
The sunshine we are feeling
will not be forevermore

The water in our bodies
will depart us one day soon
The colors in a rainbow
are all made from me and you

We are the lives that lived before
and those still yet to come
A spirit still forever shared
from whom we all are from

Some say our souls continue on
and maybe that is true
But part of us will always stay
this earth, is me and you

Freedom of expression is our, write.

Richy, you are such a beautiful soul!

This is awesome in its wise and powerful implications.

Life's constant flow contains us and there is nowhere to go except to the core of LOVE.

Thank you for this gift.

Love,
Margherita

Richy, I read your poems at least twice. ~ Not because I don't understand them, but strictly for the sheer pleasure of doing so!

Richy, this is the first of your poems that I have read, and most certainly not the last.  I enjoyed it immensely, and not just because I am very much a person of this beautiful earth.  Just 2 small things, if you don't mind - as you say, you're a big boy! - "lay" should be "lie" and "depart us" should be "depart from us".
