When the heart is happy,
it desires to remain happy,
and will be happy, unless acted upon
by some dark force against desire.

When the heart is sad,
though it may desire to be happy,
it will be sad, unless acted upon by some
contravention of sweet relief, such as the chime
of her voice, or the caress
of her fingertips upon the troubled brow . . .

Ah, the forces of nature,
bound up in the deep mysteries
of the nature of love!

Dear Art, I really love your "love thoughts" and heart ponderings.

Very very captivating and beautiful, also because you maintain this sense of wonder ...

Love,
Margherita

I think this is what a romantic poem should be, not too much, just a touch.

Thanks, sharyn! Yes, I had the law of inertia in mind as a means to convey my feelings. I have always been mystified by inertia---well, all of the fundamental laws of physics---and I try to connect everything to the whole of experience. Sometimes it drives me nuts, or should I say, nuttier!
