And I was once a wall
while you were a wave
crashing against me, but
I denied the love you gave.

Maybe I could say one day
you finally broke through
and I became a wave
to dance with you.

But now you are the wall
and I'm tired of beating
myself up against you,
charging then retreating,
my own love is defeating.

Water flows the path of least resistance,
and the sea is now calm and given in-
so you stand there brave and tall
because I care not for any brick wall,
I'll remember you as the hardest of men.

Dear Passing shadows,

This is well done, and has a nice shape.  It's always nice to be remembered as a hard man.

Very well done.  I like the way you took the analogy and reversed it.  Thanks for sharing
