Funny How Tables Turn

I've come to believe
that you liked it when
I came and went, and came
only now and then,
leaving you not knowing
when you'd see me again-

when I wasn't faithful
and had other men.

Maybe you liked it more
when I left in the night,
leaving you to wake alone
in the midst of early light,
maybe you only said to stay
because you thought it was right-

when I didn't care enough
to want to get into a fight.

Maybe you liked it better
when I had no love for you,
when I wouldn't be around for months
then come by for a night or two,
when I never called or emailed,
leaving you with no clue-

funny how tables turn...
but that's okay, I'll make it through.

intriguing write...glad you can still use the word "funny"...not sure that I could...always something to think about with your heart-felt writes...thanks for sharing your soul...
