                   Potter's Field

               A quiet place
               where wildflowers seed and grow
               while underneath
               the nameless sleep
               with their stories
               yet untold.

               Nothing else
               can be said
               for all the nameless dead
               entombed beneath
               their blanket
               in a simple earthen bed.

               Still,
               as the stealthness
               of the moment
               is broken,
               by voiceless teardrops
               of morning dew...

               I think about those
               resting there,
               those loved ones,
               the mothers,
               the fathers
               and you.

I whispered your words with reverence.

Exceptionally moving read.

The imagery of your verse is incredibly powerful.  I loved the section
"  Still,
               as the stealthness
               of the moment
               is broken,
               by voiceless teardrops
               of morning dew..."
What use of analogy Tears to morning dew. Loved all of it.

Beautiful, touching poem. I particularly like "as the stealthness
of the moment
is broken
by the voiceless teardrops of the morning dew...." brilliant!

Spirit catches in your words and brings to life what was gone.  Beautifully done!

I reread this one, only because it's simply beautiful in so many ways....remembering the unknown, painting beauty in a sad place with words, recognizing worth in the unknown lives and more.
