She disappears when I want to write and then annoys me in the dead of night. with her pondering, her remembering, her painful reflection. She interrupts my sleep without hesitation to regale me with some reckless speculation. She speaks to me of dreams and what might have been. She torments me with questions that have no answers and curiosity that has no end. And then, she is gone again, leaving me hanging on the tip of an idea, just to remind me once again that she is the poet. Ida Werrett |
