Common Plea

As daylight, so you are the sun
Limitless, dimension radiant by one
As strong an influence as air
The sustenance of rain to bear
My words succumb, the weightless of intensity
To dedicate the volume nor the density
As crossed my mind, and stuttered then
Stay, stay near and warm these hours when
And yet, I would not trim these wings
Say these things too heavy to be heard
We speak without the mutter of a single word
You know, and though it seems too good
A common thing I’ve always understood
Whatever is the brightness of my life
Attributed to feelings fleet and rife
Then stay, stay forever and a day
For I have known the Eastern rise as dawn
As daylight, so you are the sun

The endless beauty that you write so elegantly, brings tears to my eyes.

It is that breathtaking!!!

You upstage yourself time and again TD, and you never fail to move me.

This was absolutely heavenly.  I like the way you worked with your phrasing and imagery to come full circle.  Thanks for sharing

Oh Kathleen, this is how I remember you. A poet's talent I could only aspire to. This is, a Diamond, and so are, you.
