Damage Control By Paul Wilson I’ve seen the pain caused by you felt the hurt deep inside Struggled thru restless nights counting the teardrops I cried Come morning I’ll try to understand as you make things right Damage control your specialty for the wrong’s you did last night You come and go at will knowing I will always be there Waiting for you to return I wonder why I even care Crumpled paper in your pocket phone number written in red Afraid to ask who’s it is damage control…enough said Staring eyes tell their story people think I don’t know Someday soon I’ll get the courage to pack up and go Flowers arrived early this morning the note said I love you so Another attempt to make up damage control your specialty you know I’ll give you one more chance cause I love you so No more lies and excuses damage control must stop or you go ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |

interesting poem...stimulus-response, cause and effect mixed with compulsive behavior...my compulsion/your compulsion...a simple,serrated line of red drawn under a postage stamp to indicate a red letter day...a phone number written in red (not black or blue)! a plague of scarlet...a scarlet letter followed by damage control...do you remember the phone number? |
