Crows are so intelligent and they are perfect subjects for the poet.

ida...the raven and crow are not the same bird. both belong to the genus, Corvus; both are black; the raven is larger and more intelligent.

alison...enjoyed...ravens and vultures are my favorites...next to jaco, my african grey!

Arctic Wind,

Thank you for enjoying this one.

xTr3m3sT,

Thank you for laughing.  I like knowing that you did.

______________

Ida,

Thanks for reading.  I had a friend whose family had two Ravens for pets when she was little.  She said she hated it because she felt that they were too intelligent to be kept in captivity.  Maybe if they had been free to come and go, she would have been okay with it.

rv woo,

I want to see Vultures some day.  They are amazing birds.  I had an insane parrot once, but gave it back to its previous owners.  I felt sorry for him - he sure had me under his wing though.  Don't think I have ever lived with anyone/anything quite that Alpha.  I see him now and then - he's the only living creature that I could not live in harmony with.  I still love him and he loves me too - but it was best to not live together -- (laughing) -- sounds like any relationship gone bad, huh.

Alison

Thank you so much.

I am glad that you have each other too.  I am fortunate to be loved by three dogs and two cats -- and one parrot who can no longer live with me.  But, I do love that old bird.

I know well the antics of this bird, having watched them steal grain and straw
from my sister's pig yard in Fox, Alaska.
What sassy raucous rowdy characters!
