A Prayer For Her

Life without love brings unending distress,
With unbearable burdens unyielding.
Grant her release from relentless duress,
And oppression pure evil is wielding.
Always to suffer an innocent’s pain,
And the price of her tyrant’s transgressions,
Free her from sorrow and tyranny’s reign,
And the storm clouds of darkest depression.
Grant her the solace and comfort she’s due,
For her years spent in silent submission.
With moments of peace too fleeting and few,
She deserves an escape from perdition.

Bless her with this as she rests in your palm,
Heartfelt relief and continuous calm.

Beautiful and touching poem, David. You might want to use a darker print as this color can be very hard to read.
