Felix is sick of all
“The Man’s”
empty promises.

“Keep your nose clean,
and you can smell the roses”.

Well,
Felix doesn’t know
what a rose smells like.

Knowing the man,
and all his lies,
Felix thinks that’s probably
not a good deal anyway—
just another line of malarkey
from the man.

Then suddenly,
out of the blue,
Sally gives him
a bouquet of yellow roses.

He likes the smell
of the roses,
and more than likes
the smell of Sally—

yeah, that’s okay.

Bobby

Thanks Seoulair,

You've got it.  Human nature is like that.  It's the best kind of nature.

That's because Felix is really an old softy inside. Felix acts tough but some of us understand Felix as he really is.

Thanks Ida,

Now don't be spreading that around.  I can't afford to lose my street rep.

Thanks Sharyn,

Roses are nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live with them.  Felix's small, city, backyard is tastefully covered with concrete.  That's the way he likes it.

ah roses are my favourite Bobby!  I'm pleased for Felix that he got to experience their beautiful fragrance and that Sally was the one to give them to him... love RDB

Dear RDB,

Yes, Sally is a peach that way, very romantic.  Of course, you know, Felix has a problem with the love thing.  It gets awkward.

I am glad Felix was given the chance to see and feel the overwhelming beauty of a rose and of the bringer of the rose. I tell you Bobby the "concrete" of your backyard would enjoy to be given the chance to display some of the godgiven beauty in form of plants and flowers ... God Himself manifests in the flowers.
I know of course of men's nature, which can bring along the need for shields that make us almost unreceptive of nature's beauty ... but there is immense healing power in it.

Thought provoking as usual and well written.
Love,
Margherita

Dear Margherita,

Thanks for your thoughtful advice on flowers, and gardening in general.

Unfortunately, Felix and I have rather overwhelming negative memories when it comes to gardening.

Flowers every now and then are very nice.

Thanks Yann,

Yes, flowers are okay, every now and then.  Thanks for the kind words on this one.

Thanks Tammy<333,

Yes, Felix cares a lot about Sally, and flowers are okay, as long as he doesn't get involved in raising them.
