I sit beside you,
holding your hand.

My arm around your shoulder
and my body pressed closely to yours.

The movie has just ended,
the credits rolling.

You have fallen asleep with your head upon my shoulder.
and I can feel your heart beating,
slowly, as I lean over and kiss your lips.

You slightly smile,
but I know that you are not awake
I decide to lay you down on the couch.

As I begin to leave the couch,
I hear you groan,
you toss and turn non-stop.

I walk back to the couch,
staring at you for a moment,
and then I move the hair from your face,
once again leaning over and kissing you.

Your smile remains on your face
and you stop turning.

I decide to stay with you
and I lay down beside you,
holding you at your thighs.

I fall asleep imediately.

When I wake up,
you are not next to me,
infact I'm not even on the couch.

I just had another dream,
imagining what it would be like with you.

I begin to weep,
and I fall back to sleep,
only to dream of you once again.
