When I said I was hungry, my stomach was not empty
I was looking into a dying sunset, and longing to be free

And when I said I was poor, it was not for lack of treasure
I considered the gathering bird, sustained by nature’s full measure

But when I said I need you, I said the one true thing

I loved how you set common emotions in contrast to unique images.  I mean the first two couplets- They were inspiring.  Also liked the ending.  Thanks for sharing
