Come the morning of the day
and it is a time to think
of this and that, wishes, needs,
and entrench them yet again.

And it’s like it has to be
to not stray from certainty
and not wander in the woods of time
alone and lost to grandiose schemes.

“Come”, I call, but nothing moves
or even smiles a slight hello
and yet to sit as one dismayed
frays edges of resolve
and sets the hat of “I don’t know”
upon the head of nothingness.

I think but therefore I am not
where I am meant to be
and yet, and yet, time will beget
what now is sown within the soul
if I understand the rules
of eternal life.

So impatiently I tap my foot;
this life is not the ultimate
but sometimes and the most of time
tears find their way to eyes
and the heart is woe betide.

And then day advances like a foe
to strip and paste life over soul
until the tools of certainty
become as useless entities.

But come the morning of the day
I think again of wishes, needs,
and must, you see, because I’m me
entrench them yet again!

"But come the morning of the day
I think again of wishes, needs,
and must, you see, because I’m me
entrench them yet again!"  If only we could all escape the morning of the day.  I am in complete sympathy and you have beautfully expressed your thoughts.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.  There are days and then there are days but each one in its own way has something to say!
