It’s not the chateau de Versailles that’s beautiful,
nor the Great Wall of China or the Grand Canyon,
It’s not the Pacific Ocean that’s beautiful
Any more than the corals that are thousands of years old,
It’s not the Taj Mahal or the love of a princess
Neither Las Vegas and its casinos illuminated like a pile of gifts,
It’s not Notre Dame de Paris or the mosque of
Sûleymaniyé near the Bosphorus,
It’s not the desert or Christ the Redeemer
standing above Rio
It’s not the advice of a mother
Or Iguacu Falls,
It’s not Virtue or the labyrinth of Petra,
Nor all the museums of the world combined,
It’s not the sun that is beautiful nor discovery
Of penicillin,

It’s not what man sees or does that’s beautiful
It’s the life that surrounds it and that chooses it,
It would be vain to suggest anything else.

How very true. It is our very humanism that counts.  Thanks for sharing

Beautiful, yann, this one blew me away! And I am happy that you are in touch with DeWaal, I was concerned about him in his absence.

Have a nice day,

Art

This poem shows all the talent I knew you had, if we could get past the language barrier, yann. I am so glad to hear that Dewaal is okay, I was worried about him.
