Depression never leaves
Always clinging to your last drops of good spirit
Your last bits of happiness
Turning your own world against you
Tearing your life from your grip
Just when you think you have it beat
It beats you

Depression
My companion
Forty some odd years
Blackened my future
Tenacious gripped fear
Learn as I mature
Depression is manageable
When I choose to take care
Of my thoughts and actions
With my meds friends and a prayer..

Hello Tina
I don't know how to help, i've been depressed too...
The only thing that i know is that depression is like a lion...
When i smell the odor i run away...

  Best wishes

I always heard that depression feels like a long walk through wet cement. Your comments and description were very moving.  Thanks for sharing and hold on to the least bit of sunshine.

Tina,

I hope that depression never truly defeats you.  Maybe you are defeating it and it doesn't spend the time with you that it really wants to.  Dunno.  Just a thought.
