Not everyone will fall

The rain is pattering on the window,
It’s flooding all the streets,
Toddlers are in their wellys,
But they really want bare feet.

The rain is like my tears,
Smothering everything,
It is just so similar,
It keeps on flowing,

I just sit here against the wall,
With my mascara down my cheeks,
I was so stupid,
To believe he could do that feat,

But I smile through the blur,
Of water running down my face,
Because now the rain has stopped,
It’s gone without a trace,

It’s then I know things will get better,
Get better for us all,
There’s hope in every situation,
Not everyone will fall

Becky welcome to Passions & an interesting first post...I read it a couple of times & it put me in mind of the advert on Tv over here about drinking too much, where the guy climbs the scaffolding & falls? Nice job... John
