Common Bonds

I remember when me and Margaret were so close
not even a crow bar could pry us apart.
Not wishing to depart, we shared this common bond,
both the leftovers of former spouses who
apparently had their reasons to move on.
Her husband finding a younger woman working
right before his lusting eyes in his very
own Doctors office and my wife finding or
perhaps being found by a desiring customer
filling a warm seat within her coffee shop.
I can only speak for myself but we probably had
it coming, as lovers seldom leave without reason.
Devastated by the prospects of a divorce,
the stress tried its best to suffer me no less,
and in its cause had no problem succeeding.
She was further down the road but seemingly
suffering none the less, giving strength
by her presence, providing the joy of not
suffering alone, two wounded hearts sharing
common bonds and comforting each other.

Margaret is passed
away now, but at that
time she was my angel.

Nice to know that you had a lovely Margaret in your life who helped you through a difficult time, dear James!

Yes, together, the healing process is surely shortened.

Love,
Margherita
