Hello everyone, I'm new to these forums, but i've been looking for somewhere to write a leave my poetry for other to read and enjoy, I like to keep my poetry together so they will mostly be kept in one thread. Of course constructive criticism is most welcome, and needed from time to time I'm sure. So here is the first I will post.

Dawn

Through a dark cold winter night
Strangling from the pain
Awaken to a bright lit morning
Secure, safe and sane

The crimson sky that brightens the day
At rest on sand my feet in the water
The tide coming in and clouds fading away
I arise from the sand and i begun to search
The deepest depths within my soul
And found what was left, with nothing more to say

Shead a tear, and flood a sea
For we shead them sometimes
The fever is gone with the tide
And my soul has healed at last

I hope you will enjoy my work.
Simon

In Light of Darkness

Shade of grey, scan the horizons
Darkened, blackened, cold and dazed
Wide eyed me awake for the for time
nothing left to fear, I'm so unfazed

The shear dread of dawn seaps away
And the flood of joy that flows through
Hoping with all my that the skies will stay
Dreaming that they may, but not too sure
Still hoping for the day, come what may
That dreams come true, for freedoms sake

I open my eyes too a new dawn at morning
Safe again in my own bed, with you
Dreaming once more of tomorrow's day
No fear of the dark to come, I pray for tomorrow
