i just had surgery and before i did my friend gave my a gift, it was a stuffed dog

Oh, how soft and
comforting
a stuffed animal can be

when your little
in the middle
of the night
when your at fright

or a gift before
you go under the knife
or maybe your very first flight

Oh, how soft and comforting
a stuffed animal can be
it gives you the illusion
everything is safe

but the really world
does
haunt you
someday

I enjoyed the warm comforting tone--it showed how the simplest things can reassure.

thanks you guys, and yes my surgery went well. i have to lay low for a while though, but the sleep is good
