In times of loss that bring such grief
There are no words that bring relief
For none can ever take the place
Of one who’s gone to heaven’s grace

And there is not a spoken word
To offer you that can be heard
That takes away the heartfelt pain
Of the sadness that will still remain

Although it does not seem quite fair
To lose a loving son so rare
I know he’d not want you to grieve
Too long because he had to leave

He’d ask that even though he's gone
You’d let his memory live on
Knowing in heaven there’ll be one
To welcome you when day is done

And know that there are those who care
That want to ease the pain you bear
So know this friend, for it is true
Our hearts are hurting there with you
