And So It Is Written In Stone
“And so it is written in stone.”

Not until this long,
hard day
did I truly understand
the finality
of that old cliché.

It arrived today,
glistening and new.

Against a backdrop
of a dark bronze hue,
is a castle rose
and a border of gold.

Reflecting the light are
the raised letters and dates.

Forever it will endure
the elements of Earth.
Or so I have been told.

It will be laid atop the ground,
below, his vessel lies.

To always tell the world…

Lawrence “Larry” Brown
Beloved Son, Brother, Friend

Once played and grew,
once lived and laughed.

Once,
in a much longed for past.

But now he is gone,
never again to be.

Instead I have this headstone
that will forever remind me…

“And so it is written in stone.”

This is such an awesome title for this tribute to your son, just the title is evidence of your talent.

CMGrimm,

Thank you so very much for your kind words and thoughts… And thank you so very much for reading my writings… It means more than you can know…

My dear John,

I carried all of my wonderful friends from these blue pages with me Wednesday and it was beautiful…All of you, help hold me up and keep me strong! I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart! We sent up over 100 bright green and black balloons out at the crash site and placed the sign we had make and flowers. It was beautiful… I did good I think. I made it a celebration of Larry’s life and memory rather than another funeral… that’s what he wanted I’m sure!

Tammy, I know that is exactly what Larry would have wanted. I am glad you took us along with you on Wednesday. I, as I'm sure the rest of our friends here were also by your side spiritually. You know what picture came to mind as I thought of all those balloons floating up towards Larry? I had a vision of him kind of punching & playing with them you know  the way kids love to do & then I thought, I bet he is saying that 1 is so & so, that 1 is etc, etc and calling ecah balloon by the name of his friends down here... I bet it made him chuckle when he saw the Toerag one floating by!   John xx

John,

I am so sure that Larry was laughing his behind off as Toerag floated by!!! Actually, he probably stopped him to trade off some stories… Larry LOVED to make people laugh. It was one of his specialties…

Lots of love,

"Forever it will endure
the elements of Earth.

i don't even know what to say...but this is a very powerful part. memories and words are really all that endure forever.
