The Reality of It All |

What could have been is gone. It’s all about what is now - this moment, this day. But, still there’s an ‘us’, a team, partners hand-in-hand. Together, we look beyond this day into another time, and we look back with smiles of friendship and love. It’s like you are going on a long trip, leaving me behind. I cling to you, smiling through tears, knowing that you love me. No matter how far you go, you love me. Shoulda-coulda-woulda’s mean nothing. We share a past, we have a today; it’s the tomorrow’s that we’ll miss. But every tomorrow will hold you. When the waves lick my ankles, I’ll feel you. When the sun kisses my cheeks, I’ll feel you. When the rain slides over my lips, I’ll feel you. Your legacy will live on in others as it will live on in me. When I cry in anguish, you will be there. When my temper flairs, you’ll hold me back. In my dreams, you will come and my mouth shall speak to a man who loves me. It’s not over until it is over. Remember how I said that? It’s not ever over, just a new day; a new life.
