Passing by.
The charred ground,
Scorched and blackened.

Our reflections gazing back.

As though they were film on a projector,
our memories play themselves out.

The visions….all too vibrant.
The sounds….all too clear.
The odors….all too fresh.
The sensations….all too near.

Despair consumes the essence.
Unadulterated anguish in its physical form.

Passing by.
The charred ground,
Scorched and blackened.

Thank you Passing Shadows, but I will never avoid passing by…

Besides, it is the first of everything that breaks me, so I found that I must face that first, let it destroy me, and then make it mine in order to find some sort of peace within the second and all those after.

Margherita,

Thank you for your kind and caring words… We had to go back to our client’s home only weeks later to finish the job we had started. Days later I wrote this.

“Despair consumes the essence.
Unadulterated anguish in its physical form.”

This line describes what I saw then and sometimes still do see in my husband’s face and body…

In my neck of the woods, Tammy, we are often caught up with Prairie fires...your words hit home, closely.

It must hurt so much to pass the scene, but I understand why you feel the need to do so...truth be told, were it my child I would do exactly the same.  Almost as if the proximity to that area kept me close to them...I never understood until now why families who lost loved ones at sea etc would want to go to the scene of where the ship went down, I fully realise now having read your recent posts...much love to you & yours Tammy,   John

Sunshine,

I hope they do not stir up too painful of memories for you… Thank you for taking the time to read it.

John,

I am glad I was able to give you some insight into why the grieving do some of what they do. I know that a lot of times, friends and family think I have lost my mind because of some of the things I do. Wednesday we will be going to the crash site to put a sign and some flowers and to release 100 bright green and black balloons with messages written on some of them… Remembering him and his life means also remembering his death.

Thank you for your kind words and for your time in meeting and getting to know a little about my son. This is what helps a bereaved parent more than anything…To know that the world will continue to know our child. As long as he is known he cannot truly be gone…

Simon,

Thank you so much…

Vandana,

Thank you.

Tammy, As long as you continue write & post your words about him, Larry will never EVER be gone you cannot & will not let that happen. We at passions will continue also to remember him with you.

I saw the ballons in the video, I guess they were either his favourite color or maybe the team colors of his ball team? He was a fine looking boy, you were truly blessed to have had him albeit for all to brief a time....Take care, Much Love..John
