Aging

I watch the sun rise in the sky.
Its warmth a morning's song.
To slip into a Spring-time high
and right all sense of wrong.
To capture beauty's hold in eye
and pleasure moments strong.
It's then that I relieve in sigh
and know here I belong.

To not forget each lesson learned
Through hardship and in need,
That aging comes to those who earned
by laying down their seed
of knowledge shared for all concerned
and guiding those who lead.
It's nature's way in seasons turned,
another year to feed.

M

I've been thinking of late about the truth in cliches.  We only have one shot in this life, (oh but I would do things so differently given a second chance) but we can't go back again.  Each day is a gift and that life is what we make it.  Your words take the edge off the aging process and smooth it over with the wisdom of years.  A place in time that is earned through laughter and tears, and all the love we have known.

Oh boy, I haven't been on my soap box for a long time!

Hugs to you this morning, Maureen.

Absolutely beautiful write, dear Maureen!

This brought a moment's truth, beauty and wisdom to be considered a precious gift really.

Love and hugs.

I often find myself struggling to stay on course when encountering the sharp bends in the road of life. Sometimes the lening curve can seem way to steep...well put Maureen, I hope you are well of late.  John
