As hard as it may be to believe,
Felix doesn’t always trust people
he meets out on the street.

You never know what
people might have lurking about
in their feeble minds.

Some times you can tell
by looking in their eyes,
but not always.

Then of course,
the principle thing
is the financial situation.

People that are well dressed,
and look intelligent,
don’t always have
the heavy wallet.

Many times the shabby folks,
the truck drivers and such,
are just loaded down with cash.

They are also usually
kind and gentle.

Gentle, of course, being
a most important consideration.

No one,
and most certainly not Felix,
wants to be all torn up.

Here again,
the look in the eyes
may tell,
but, then again,
not always.

No, Felix trusts no one.
He’s lost that facility long ago.

It was taken from him
too many times.

For Felix “trust”
no longer exists.

Bobby

Are you Robert Jordan the pop artist?!

Shayna's ex boyfriend?

Regardless, your poetry is fantastic.. and it reminded me of somebody who shares the same name as you

(if you are who i think u are, this is Joe Knob! whats up, man?)

EagleScorpion,

Thanks for the kind words on the poem.

There are a bunch of us Robert E. Jordans out there.

I'm the one that's seventy-one years old, going on fifteen.

Say hello to the other Robert Jordans for me.  We're all one big happy family.

Bobby

Dear RDB,

Here in the U. S. there are a slew of Robert Jordan’s.  The family has been on this continent since 1612.  That's 396 years.  The first Jordan here was Samuel.  The Jordan’s’ are the 25th most common name here.

We come in all colors, and in all religions.

All we Robert Jordan’s are one big happy family.  We’re all cousins in one way or the other.  It’s nice that we all have a bond.

Felix is right, It doesn't pay to be too trusting.

Ida,

Yes, that's true.  You've noticed that too.

Thanks for the kind words on this poem.

It is sad but it was his life made him lost trust on people. We all need to be alert. But if we are always on a red-color alarm then we really live in the world  of gray.

But I trust Felix's judgment.

enjoyed the read.

Thanks Seoulair,

I't good you trust Felix's judgement about people.  It's helped him survive to a ripe old age.  He really does know what he's doing, and he always did.

Just when I think I'm getting to know Felix, he throws me a mean slider just to the outside corner! I'm gonna keep trying.

Art,

No one really knows Felix.  He's a maze, like everyone else.
