Contemplation

You speak to me in the dapper voice of spring
Tempting my mind in the taste of crimson wine
Fondling emotional points, to distraction
I have fallen on this path before
Let unlatched the veil across my heart and cracked the door
Only to find silence echoed in your footsteps

And I know well the depths at which I dwell
Waiting for discovery, prone to quick recovery
You’ve known, all this time, you have known
As have I
