Fairy Moon

When fairy folk come out to play upon a starry night
A golden halo starts to form around the moon so bright
It’s then that you can see them darting there among the trees
And watch them do their fairy dance as lovely as you please

They cast their golden nets of dreams across the starlit skies
To gather up the shooting stars and glowing fire flies
Like sparkling bits of stardust they all glisten in the night
They gather in the fairy woods and all of them take flight

Up into the skies they’ll go as through the night they play
Dancing with the moonlight beams across the Milky Way
Then they will go to take a dip into a starlight pool
And play a game of hide ‘n seek in grasses deep and cool

Throughout the night they dance and sing until the break of day
Then as the dawn begins to break they slowly fade away
It really is amazing on a summer night in June
When tiny folk come out to play beneath a fairy moon

This is lovely.  I still hope you are writing a children's book.

What a wonderful poem, Steve. I'm saving it for my grandaughter. I wish I had written this.

Ronnie thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks Ali, maybe one of these days.

John, glad you enjoyed it. Where have you been?

Ida, nice to hear from you.

Marge, it's good to hear the little ones enjoy the fairies.

Sarlou, I'm sure she is a fairy princess.
