Thirteen year old Felix
is standing on his corner,
looking for a client.

A car drives up,
stops,
and its window rolls down.

Felix walks over,
looks in the widow.

Awww geeez,
it’s his priest Father John.
Felix would like to run,
but, of course, he can’t.

“Felix,
I know what you’re up-to,
and I know you know
it’s a sin.

Take this twenty dollar bill,
go home,
and go to bed.

I want to see you
in confession this Saturday
at four o’clock.”

“Thanks Father,
I’ll be there.”

Bobby

Angels and Devils sometimes "touch". Priests know this... and Felix most certainly too.

Confession is one of the hardest sacraments to accomplish. Though in the light of "Sacrament of Reconciliation" it sounds very inviting.

Always you bring such thought provoking stuff, that brings out the rebel in me.

Love,
Margherita

Margherita,

The Sacrament of Reconciliation can make a person feel, and be, "okay".

Margherita,

I have been lucky enough to only have good priests.  I know the bad ones are out there.

As a matter of fact, I grew up with one.

He broke the heart of everyone who knew him as a kid.  I pray for him, I thnk we all do.

Of course Felix is not a devil, and never was, not even a little devil.

BTW, my priest at MDG (Mother of Divine Grace) here in Philly would never pull any of that bad crap.  He treats all the kids right--yeah, his name's Father John.

Our kids need all the help and encouragement they can get, it’s a poor hood, and they sometimes get into trouble.

Dear RDB,

There are four large Catholic Churches in the hood--one Italian, one Polish, one Irish, and one German.  They each have grade schools.  I go to the Italian one, as my wife is part Italian.

Im glad Felix made some cash the easy way for a change, I bet going to confession was easy for him given the ways he has had to earn enough to eat in the past...

John,

Let's just say Father John was very understanding.
