In Neglect

I have the time
but not the minutes
nor the moments when
dreams are in it.

Pain in the waking,
a pretender each day.
The returning of normalcy
a distance away.

You have had my heart
though it's been in neglect,
and have captured the colors
of a rainbow's connect.

It's the waiting of willingness
and the depth of the need
that leave me with hope
in each day's proceed.

I can't write these words
that no longer exist,
as the day turning night
leaves my mind in a twist.

Painting each picture
with brushstrokes of sad.
What good does it do
with the loss of the "had".

Tired it seems
more than words could say
even if  possible
the struggles in play...

The doors will not open.
The windows are sealed.
The reflections of self
leaves one in left field.

Wondering as always
where all this will end.
The whys and the ifs
continuing their trend.

M

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."

MzBliss~

I adore the opening -

'I have the time
but not the minutes
nor the moments when
dreams are in it.'

It ends like this, beautifully poured out on the page.

You wonder in a very touching way, dear Maureen.
May the doors open, so that the light can flow freely through all the sad and dark corridors of your heart and mind.

Well done!
Love,
Margherita

Loved this.  Was Touched by This.  My heart . . . feels yours, my friend, and it cries; and it believes that we will all, smile again...that we have to believe.

Me to you, Maureen.

Roniece, thank you for the hugs, sadness is a part of life

Dixie, good to see you back, I know you understand

Marge, I never know where the thoughts come from or where they are going until I start writing, thanks

JamesM, and hiddensmiles thank you both.

Seoulair, yes  part of my life right now, plenty of sadness.

RC Langill , thank you for your very kind response. It is appreciated.

I am particularly fond of the beginning of this most expressive
'penning' [which (unfortunately) I can 'relate' too far too well]...

applause!!
