For those that have forgotten.

   The Promised Land

Everything has it's purpose.
That's what he tells himself, then he tries to make sense of it all.
She knows he loves her, that he always thinks of her
that in his heart there's no other, that can ever take her place.

He can hear her humming while the guitar's strumming
and the minstrel sings the song;

The higher you climb,
the farther you'll fall
the faster you run
the farther you'll crawl
back to me, back to me...

He thinks she doesn't know just how bad it hurts,
the blessing and the curse, to be without her.
What makes it worse?
That doesn't work with her.
She knows pain all too well, she lost her Man to hell
and the day that he fell?
Well, she's cried everyday since that day.
Since the day he would say; It's all your fault.
Forever was gone, just like a bomb
shattered and scattered by some crazy game,
the blame game, denial and betrayal.
So she accepted it and determined in her heart she would wait.
2 hours, 2 days, 2 months, 2 years, 2 thousand years?
It didn't really matter, time was by her side
the place he used to stand, the promised land.
Will he ever give her his hand?
Will he ever truly understand,
the Love of Woman for her Man?

Her love runs deep, his secrets she keeps
forever and always within her heart.

Maybe tomorrow he will see it through her eyes,
then he will know just why it is she cries,
why she will always love him in her heart
why it ends just like it starts
Man and Woman together forever, the way it has to be.
Then he will see eternity...

And I can hear her humming while the guitar's strumming
and the minstrel sings a song, a new song, a love song, a wedding song:

Inside your heart there's a flower
growing stronger by the hour
soon you'll see the power
has all been meant for you
I do my best to love you
to help you and protect you
I do my best to show you
that it's all been meant for you

In your heart you love me
you help me, you protect me
with your heart you've shown me
a Love that's pure and true
inside your heart there's a flower
i can wait girl till tomorrow
because i can't give my power
to anyone but you....
