Felix remembers
the craziness in that room,
the loud smashing of things
against the wall,
his mother running
screaming down the hall,
the insane craziness of it all.

He remembers his father
crazy drunk,
waving his gun around,
and around in the air.

Like a merry-go-round it was,
with the calliope screams and shouts,
enough to wake the very dead.

It all made Felix want to run.

All he wanted to do
was get away
from the craziness
in that terrible room.

Bobby

Ida,

I'm sorry to hear that.  Many of us have been there.  They should lock the door to that room--from the outside, so no one can get in.

Dear RDB,

Yes, I'm happy to report they did, many years ago.  Poor Dad.

Alison,

Well, Felix got out of that situation.  His father’s story was a very sad one.
