Sometimes tears come
when I am alone
but when I face the world
I leave them home
and lock the door.

A succinct statement of everyday bravery.
But do those tears always stay so tightly trussed up?

You are a strong woman, dear Ida.

Well said, maybe not so easily done.

Ida, most days thats what I try to do too, but some days they try to sneak out from behind that locked door.  Enjoyed this hon.

Very wise move to make Ida, but some times shedding a few tears does ease the pain.

I hope today is a great day for you my dear
with tears all forgotten. A big warm hug and a bright sunny day.

This perfectly describes me. Except that I don't really cry when I'm alone either. Not really something I let myself do

Thank you all for your lovely comments and I do think a good cry helps sometimes, I just think it doesn't help anyone else to see it.

Yes, it's nice to leave them locked up at home when we're out, but keeping them locked up inside us, seems to have a hardening or inner formenting effect.

You're right that a good cry can bring healing, too.

Nice poem.

A lot of us do just this, Ida.
But few of us admit it.

Good job!
